Designer Spotlight: Fer Blasco
We’re so spoiled at Dynamite to work with such inspiring, talented professionals. New(ish) to the team, our Senior Director of Design, Fer Blasco joins us from Argentina. After working in Europe (Paris & Spain), she’s exactly what Dynamite needed for our revamp. We chatted with her to ask about the new Fall Collection.
Where did you get your inspiration for Dynamite’s new Fall Collection?
We are customer-focused. Doing research on her identity, the real inspiration is HER. Sexy, real, modern, independent…she is the one who guides us every day. We are redefining the brand and the collection, getting inspired from our trips and the fashion world. We want her to be unique and special.
How would you define the new direction of Dynamite?
We’re working on the brand evolution, taking our client to the next level, making her more confidence and fashion driven. The collection is focused on her needs, work wear, styles to go out and weekend outfits.
The colors are more sophisticated. The fabrics are more textured and rich. We’re focusing more on the special details to fall in love with. We’re also exploring new shapes and composing new looks that will keep her sexy side but making it feel more modern.
What are some key pieces in this season’s collection?
- The blazer is a MUST for the season! From the tailored one to the new faux leather biker style.
- Our coats are going to be spectacular! With a mix of materials and rich details to highlight them.
- High waist denim combined with a woven t-shirt top is a must outfit.
- Textured materials is a big direction of this collection.
- The long coat cardigan with thicker yarns to use over the rest.
What trend is a must-have for Fall?
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m following styles all the time, but I really identify myself with the new “enfant terrible”of the fashion world, as Alexander Wang and Hedi Slimane. I like the clean and defined shapes from Wang in his black and white eternal and the rock and roll sexy cool from Slimane, breaking the rules. Clean black denim with some transparency pieces is my signature look, not too many accessories, and red lips.
Best city for shopping?
Paris has it all. Good places, new stores and global selection of brands. Everything you need in only one place.
Favorite celebrity style?
The celebs I pay attention to are connected to fashion world. I get inspired by Emanuelle Alt (Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Paris), she represents the woman of today, simple, cool and always the perfect work outfit. Also Model, Erin Wasson is independent with a strong personality and style.
Favorite music right now?
My latest love is Cherry Glazerr, so inspiring from the last YSL catwalk. Very cool & sexy!
I really like Garance Dore, with her girly style and artistic point of view, and of course Rumi Neely from Fashion Toast, she is really my inspiration for the new Dynamite girl. Both are really cool and keep me informed.
