Met Gala 2016 | Best Dressed
If you were on social media at any point last night, you know that the Met Gala was all anyone could talk about.
The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. Anna Wintour has been chairing the event since 1995. This year, she was accompanied by co-chairs: Jony Ive, Prada, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift and Nicolas Ghesquière.
This year’s theme was tech meets fashion, with designers going from handmade garments to machine-made haute couture designs.
With such a specific theme, the fashion world was expecting truly amazing designs but while the stars looked stunning, not everyone stuck to the theme.
The Dynamite team was all over the event and we are proud to present you with our choices for the Met Gala 2016’s best dressed:
Hot off the runaway success of her surprise album/movie Lemonade, The Queen, who rarely fails to impress on a red carpet, walked in looking like a latex goddess in Givenchy. Only she can pull this off. Just keep slayin’ Bey.
Kendall Jenner wore a custom Atelier Versace gown that left little to the imagination, but somehow did it in a tasteful way. We were wondering how she would possibly top last year’s beautiful Emerald Calvin Klein gown, well she succeeded thanks to Atelier Versace!
She walked in looking like a princess. Zac Posen managed to make Claire Danes look like the modern Cinderella. Little did we know, her gown was made in glowing fibre which seriously brought her dress to the next level. Claire was really one of the biggest surprises for us last night.
She dazzled us in Balmain and seemed to really get the tech meets fashion theme on point. So did the Balmain army…
All metallic everything. She made us believe that in 2078 this is what a black tie gown would look like. She nailed the theme, nailed the gown, and nailed hair & makeup.
We hope you enjoyed our Met Gala 2016 recap! What was your favourite dress? Let us know in the comments!
