Travelling to Tulum
This past February, the Dynamite team took off to Tulum, Mexico to shoot our new Sea Breeze lookbook. Here’s a sneak traveller peek into a place we fall in love with again and again.
Coqui Coqui Tulum
The Coqui Coqui Tulum is quirky, cool and exactly what you would expect from an old perfumery on the beach. It combines rustic design, beachfront relaxation and awe-inspiring views of the Caribbean Sea.
Don’t forget to hit up the Spa at Coqui Coqui for a Maya clay wrap or a candle-lit coconut salt-infused bath.
The market in Tulum serves up many delicious cheap eats, but for a special night out try Cenzontle Tulum. Cenzontle may not be as popular as Hartwood, and trust us that is a good thing! They specialize in experimental Mexican cuisine and twists on tradition Mexican dishes. The fresh fruit cocktails they serve up are only rivaled by the amazing beachfront ambiance.
The must try’s on the menu are the tuna al pastor or the hibiscus flower pastry.
While in Tulum, the ruins are a must-see and they are not far from the hotel zone. Remember to pack your bathing suit so you can enjoy the amazing beach just steps away.
Tip: Get there early to beat the crowds and then relax on the beach for the rest of the day.
For a bit of a different swimming experience, check out the Cenote. They are natural pools of water created by sinkholes, great for snorkeling in crystal clear water!
When heading to Tulum don’t forget to pack:
- A flashlight; the roads are not well lit.
- Plenty of sunscreen; the sun in Mexico is very strong!
- Bug repellant; bring an extra travel size to throw in your purse as the mosquitoes come out at night.
- The Dynamite Sea Breeze collection; it`s resort-inspired and perfect for the beach.
